The Age of Entitlements

I wrote an article last year entitled: Creating Passive Income: Are You a Renter or an Owner? My premise was that successful people take responsibility for their actions and develop networks that create residual income.  A business owner can’t just turn in the keys and depend on government to pay the bills.

April 15th was yesterday — you know tax day.   It kind of reminded me of what’s happening in the news.   I think it was Mark Twain that said in so many words that politicians have their hands in everyone’s pockets.  Or was that lawyers?  Same thing.

I don’t know about you but I’ve noticed a resurgence of the “New Deal, Great Society.”   If you don’t know what that is, I don’t have time for a history lesson, just google it.   Here’s one of my pet peeves whether Republican or Democrat, why does government insist on insinuating that it’s their responsibility to “create jobs?’

Sure, government can create tax payer funded jobs all day but that’s not job creation or a result of a free market capitalistic system.  Why do people insist on depending on Government to create jobs and more entitlements?   Was that the intent of our founding fathers to assure that every person is taken care of in the United States and around the world?

Don’t entrepreneurs and business owners create real jobs?  Since when has government managed any kind of business or program for that matter without going bankrupt?  Both parties have expanded government over the last 100 years or so, something our founding fathers fought to prevent.   Government jobs and programs require tax payers to pay the bill — that’s not real economic growth.

What’s the solution?  Go out and be an entrepreneur.  Keep taking responsibility and contributing into the lives of others.  The only entitlement I want is less government and the freedom build my own future.  How about you?
